1. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to launch a pet care startup in India?
Dr. Aradhana Pandey: foremost advice: only enter the pet care space if you are truly passionate about animals. Pets are family, and this sector demands more than just business acumen—it requires compassion, patience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare.
The industry is growing, but entrepreneurs must focus on solving real problems rather than chasing trends. If your venture addresses a genuine need with integrity, the numbers will follow. Be authentic—both to yourself and to the pets—and success will come organically.
2. What were the biggest challenges you faced when launching Doggy World, and how did you overcome them?
Dr. Aradhana Pandey: No entrepreneurial journey is without hurdles. One of the biggest challenges was building a team aligned with our vision. Recruiting skilled professionals and training them to match our standards took time. Staff retention and loyalty continue to be a challenge in this industry, though I’m proud to say that Doggy World has built a dedicated and passionate team over the years.
Another challenge was access to advanced medical equipment. Many technologies were either unavailable in India or prohibitively expensive. We often had to import critical equipment at high costs to maintain the standard of care we envisioned.
As a first-generation entrepreneur, funding was also a concern—especially for expansion. However, through strategic planning, confident decision-making, and unwavering motivation, we overcame these obstacles. These experiences taught me that clarity of vision and perseverance are key to long-term success.
Setting Up a Veterinary Hospital in India

3. What are the most critical factors to consider when establishing a veterinary hospital?
Dr. Aradhana Pandey: The foundation of a successful veterinary hospital lies in clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and genuine compassion for animals.
Key considerations include:
Location: Choose a site that is easily accessible, highly visible, and situated in a pet-friendly demographic. Adequate parking is also important.
Infrastructure & Layout: Design a clean, welcoming reception area and ensure dedicated, well-equipped consultation rooms with clear signage.
Equipment & Technology: Invest in high-quality diagnostic and medical equipment. Though initially expensive, it's essential for delivering top-tier care.
Staffing: Hire trained veterinary and paramedical professionals and commit to their ongoing development.
Financial Planning: Create a clear, realistic business plan with short- and long-term goals. Understand your costs, revenue streams, and sustainability model from day one.

4. How do you ensure the quality of veterinary care at Doggy World?
Dr. Aradhana Pandey: We follow a rigorous selection and training process. New professionals undergo multiple interview rounds followed by on-the-job training under senior mentors. Only once they are aligned with our protocols and quality standards are they allowed to work independently.
We also conduct regular training sessions to keep our team updated with the latest developments in veterinary science and technology. At DoggyWorld, we believe our human capital is our greatest strength—and we invest in it accordingly
Education
5. How does DoggyWorld ensure pet parents receive accurate and actionable education?
Dr. Aradhana Pandey: At DoggyWorld, client education is a top priority. We believe that informed pet parents make better decisions for their pets’ health and well-being. Education is delivered through multiple channels:
One-on-one interactions during consultations for personalized guidance on pet parenting
Social media platforms for regular tips, updates, and awareness campaigns
Educational booklets and briefs distributed at the clinic for easy reference
A dedicated YouTube channel offering accessible, expert-backed content
Additionally, our veterinarians actively contribute to pet care magazines, TV channels, and collaborate with companies to ensure wider dissemination of accurate information. We also participate in pet fairs and exhibitions, offering opportunities for direct engagement and on-ground education for pet parents.
This multi-platform approach ensures that the information shared is not only accurate and reliable but also practical and easy to apply in everyday pet care.
