Pune startup Zoomies attracts early funding to scale clean label pet nutrition and expand rapidly across Indias urban markets
Pune-based startup Zoomies has secured ₹5 crore in a pre-seed funding round, signaling strong investor confidence in India’s rapidly evolving pet care market. Founded in 2025 by Sumedh Battewar, former co-founder of EMotorad, and Spriha Choubey, the company is focused on delivering clean-label, nutritionally balanced meals for pets.

The round was led by D2C Insider Super Angels, with backing from prominent investors including Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini, and Puneet Gupta. This funding will support investments in manufacturing, supply chain optimization, and expansion across key urban markets, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
Zoomies differentiates itself with 100% human-grade meat recipes, free from additives and preservatives, while maintaining affordability and shelf stability. Its broader vision extends beyond food, aiming to become a one-stop destination for pet essentials.
PetzCareIndia Insight: Zoomies signifies a broader transformation in India's pet ecosystem, where knowledgeable pet owners are fueling the need for transparency, high quality, and nutrition based on scientific research. As modern brands arise, the true potential is found not only in product innovation but in fostering trust, accessibility, and lasting value for India's varied pet community.
